Mark Musallam

Acoustic Time Machine

Flashbacks Never Sounded So Good

Mark Musallam is a Sacramento-based acoustic performer and songwriter, performing both as a solo artist and as part of his acoustic duo, DM, alongside vocalist Dana.

Mark’s musical journey began in 5th grade, playing drums while living in Saudi Arabia. After moving to Sacramento, CA, he picked up the guitar in high school—and hasn’t looked back since.

Following college, Mark released an 11 song CD titled "VagaBondage," a concept album. Mark performed much of the drums, bass, guitars and vocals and featured a variety of guest musicians.

In 1998, Mark founded the Sacramento-based alternative rock band TimeMaker, serving as the band’s rhythm guitarist and lead vocalist. The group released a six-song EP titled Counter-Clockwise before disbanding in 2002.

After a seven-year hiatus, Mark returned to the stage, first joining Restrayned on bass and later taking a short turn as their second drummer. He went on to form ENDofDAYS, a ’90s-inspired hard rock band, where he played bass and shared lead vocals. EOD released a 6 song CD in 2011 titled "The Beginning of the End." ENDofDAYS performed until 2013.

After a decade-long break—punctuated by occasional local open mic nights—Mark returned to music with his acoustic duo, DM. Together, Mark and Dana deliver crowd favorites from the ’70s through the early 2000s, blending harmony, energy, and nostalgia.

Mark performs 2-hour sets as a solo act, and 2- or 3-hour shows with DM. You can often catch him at local venues and open mics, continually refining an ever-evolving repertoire that connects audiences through the timeless power of live music.

“When people come out for live music, they’re looking for a good time,” says Mark. “Music creates nostalgia like nothing else. I can remember exactly where I was when I first heard songs like ‘Separate Ways’ by Journey or ‘Rebel Yell’ by Billy Idol. That feeling of hearing your memories—that’s what I call being the Acoustic Time Machine. Flashbacks never sounded so good.”

Mark prides himself on professionalism: showing up early, setting up quietly, and ensuring every venue and client gets the very best performance for their investment.
